Drag-and-drop

Drag-and-drop is a process where the user can drag a visual item across the screen and drop it
in another location.

Drag

To drag is to move a picture or text to one window to another moving the mouse while holding
down the button.

Document

Documents are any set of data that contains text, pictures, numbers, or anything else that you
create in a computer.

Dialog boxes

A dialog box is a special window used in user interfaces to display information to the user, or to
get a response if needed.

Design view

Design view is the view of table, query, form, and macro objects that enables you to create or
change the object.

Default printer

A default printer is the printer designed for each system as the destination for print requests
when no printer name is used.

Datasheet view

A datasheet view is a row and column view of a table, query, or form where you can generally
input data.

Data type

A data type is a classification identifying various types of data, such as floating-point, integer,
or Boolean, stating the possible values, operations, and the way it is stored.

Data source

A data source is any of the following types of sources for mostly digitized data, including database, computer file, and a data stream.

Cut

When doing word processing, cutting is the elevation of cutting with a pair of scissors. With the cut, copy, and paste commands, you can copy or cut text from one part of a document and insert it in a different location, or paste it in another document altogether.

Currency format

Currency format is how a spreadsheet cell displays a dollar amount. It includes dollar signs,
decimal points, and commas.

Currency

Currency is the form of money used in a country.
ex. US Dollars; Philippine Pesos; European Union Euros

Cumulative total

A cumulative total is the sum total of one record plus the sum totals of previous. This is used with spreadsheets, graphs, or reports.

A copyright is a set of exclusive rights granted to the author or creator of an original work,
including the right to copy, distribute and adapt the work.

Copy

A copy is a command in the menu bar that lets you copy selected files and folders from one
Explorer window to another or to a desktop or to a drive.

Controls

Controls are handheld devices that have buttons used to command, manage, direct, or regulate
the behavior of other devices or systems.

Contextual tabs

In Microsoft Word 2007 some of the tabs are contextual tabs. They appear only when certain objects are selected.

Context-sensitive

A context-sensitive is a formal language that can be defined by a context-sensitive grammer

Conditional formatting

Conditional formatting is cell formatting that is only applied when certain cell criteria are met.

Compatibility mode

A compatibility mode is a software mechanism in which a computer's operating system emulates
an older processor, operating system, and/or hardware platform in order to let obsolete
software to remain compatible with the computer's newer hardware or software.

Comment

Comments is a section which allow anyone to flag a document without directly changing its
contents.

Column chart

A column chart is a series of data graphed as a series of vertical bars.

A clipboard is a temporary storage area in Windows that holds text and graphics.

Clip art is a set of images, distributed as files with other software, that may be copied and pasted
into documents or other files.

Citation

A citation isa credit or reference to another document or source.

Circular reference

A circular reference is a series of references where the last object references the first, resulting
in a closed loop.

Backwardly compatible

A telecommunicating or computing device can be backwardly or downloadable compatible if it
can work with input generated by an older device.

A cell address is an address made up of column letters and row numbers.

With WordArt, you can alter the styles and colors using the windows, shadows, and 3D effects on Microsoft Word. All sizes and shapes are optional.

AutoRecover

AutoRecover is a function in computer applications or programs which saves an opened
document automatically. It is also called autosave.

AutoForm

AutoForm is a Swiss software developer that develops and markets software solutions to the die
making and sheet metal industry.

Bar charts (or bar graphs) are charts with rectangular bars that are used to record data on
a specific topic.

In Microsoft Excel, "borders" is a built-in tool that lets users access predefined border styles to

In Microsoft Excel, AutoFit automatically adjusts row height and column width to the size of the
text contents you enter into a cell.

Lab2 Common Skills

When I pressed on Alt+Tab, appearing on the screen was a small window that featured all
programs. It switched to a different page. To copy you can press ctrl+C to copy and ctrl+V to
paste.

Autocomplete

interfaces, and others. It involves the program predicting a word or phrase that a user decides to
type in without the user actually typing it in completely.

Attachment

An attachment is a file attached to an e-mail message. Most e-mail systems support sending text files as e-mail only.

Argument

An argument is an option to a command, which means command line argument. It is also called a
parameter which can pass back and forth.

Animations

Animations are rapid displays of sequences of images of 2-D or 3-D artwork or model positions
in order to create illusions of movement.

Anchor

Anchors are large and heavy devices that are obsolete, useless, and cumbersome. This is the same for ameteur radios. Anchors have been used since World War II.
